Our nursery year starts at the end of August and runs through until July; this is called an academic year.

We take children in our nursery from aged 3 and 4. Children can start the day after their third birthday. 

Nursery is open 8:45am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday during term time, which supports the school day and our school holiday periods are also the same as main school.

Free Early Educational Entitlement (FEEE) – children aged 3 and 4 years

Universal Offer (15 hours funding)

All children are entitled to 15 hours of funded early education from the term after their third birthday provided over 38 weeks (Universal offer). Where numbers facilitate, parents will be offered flexible options for using their 15 hour entitlement. No charge will be made for any part of a child’s 15 hours of funded early education, their Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE). Charges will only apply to additional hours or optional services.

When places are allocated, children will be admitted taking account of the following criteria:

• Date of Birth
• Session availability
• Date of application received
• Requested start date

 

Working Parents Offer (30 Hours funding)

Some children may be eligible for up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week, provided over 38 weeks of the year. Eligibility is determined by the government and is based on the family's circumstances. It is the parent’s responsibility to register for the 30-hour entitlement at Childcare Checker - Best Start in Life GOV

It is a parent / carer’s responsibility to check their eligibility for the Working Parent Entitlement.  They can apply by accessing  Free Childcare for Working Parents: Apply for free childcare - GOV.UK. Once a parent or carer has successfully applied and is confirmed as eligible, they will receive an eligibility code. This should be shared with the nursery so that we can confirm the funding.

Reconfirming Your 30 Hour Funding

Parents receiving the Working Parent Entitlement must reconfirm their eligibility every three months through their childcare account. HMRC will remind parents when reconfirmation is due. Failure to reconfirm eligibility may result in funding ending and charges applying for future sessions. Parents can manage their childcare account via the government's Childcare Choices website.

 

Sessions and Costs

• The morning session starts at 8.45 am until 11.45 am.
• The afternoon session starts at 11.45 am until 3:15 pm (children will need a packed lunch or school dinner).
• The extended session is 2:45pm until 3:15pm.

 

You can order a school dinner for your child as required day by day, cooked on site by our school kitchen team at a cost of £2.40 a day.

 

Charging for Additional Hours and Services

Additional hours are sessions or extra time in nursery over and above each child’s free entitlement. Parents have the opportunity to purchase additional hours (if not receiving the 30-hour entitlement). For the year commencing Autumn term 2026 to Summer term 2027, charging for additional hours will be £7.00 per hour. Additional hours will be invoiced by the school and may be paid by instalments outlined on the termly invoice.

FEEE funding begins annually on approximately 1st September each year. Rise Multi Academy Trust’s nurseries will open for the start of the Autumn term in line with the Primary School term dates. Term dates are available on the school’s website.

Parents may choose to delay their child’s start date until their FEEE funding begins or pay for non-funded hours to start in line with the main school.

Changing sessions

Please note that parents and carers should give the nursery 28 days notice of a change in hours or days. No charge will be made for any part of a child's funded Free Early Education Entitlement. Charges apply only to additional hours purchased beyond funded entitlements and to optional services such as meals where chosen by parents.
